Your Fall Guide to Fitness

Whether you were able to reach your fitness Goals this past summer or not, the fall season is no time to take your foot off the gas. It’s true, the weather has cooled and you won’t be spending as much time in a swimsuit, but the Fall Season is still a perfect time to renew your focus and reset your Goals. Here are a few tips for staying fit during the cooler months:

  • The Early Bird Gets The Worm – During this season daylight seems to be at a premium. With the sun setting earlier in the day, you’re mind and body could be tricked into thinking it’s tired during the evening hours. To combat this, you may find it beneficial to exercise early in the mornings. Not only will you be able to relax during the evenings, but you might also see a boost in your overall energy throughout the day.
  • Beware of the Darkside – If you do decide to exercise outside, either at dusk or dawn, be sure to wear bright colors for safety and layered clothing in order to adjust to cooler temperatures. Also, remember to stay hydrated. Even though the weather isn’t 95 degrees, your body still needs fluids for optimal performance.
  • Jack Of All Trades – The Fall season is a perfect opportunity to learn a new fitness skill. Activities such as; swimming laps, kick-boxing or jumping rope are great cardio exercises that can be developed now and perfected just in time for beach season next summer.
  • Eye On The Prize – It can be tempting to stray from your healthy habits during the fall. The days are shorter and they’re will be Holiday related dietary pitfalls to overcome. However; if you make fitness a priority now instead of waiting for New Years to make “resolutions” you will be way ahead of the game.
